Technical Windows Support Engineer (2nd Level)

This position is located in our central Barcelona office.The position will start with work from home but as soon as restrictions is lifted the role will be office based together with the rest of the team.

Job description

The ideal candidate has excellent (in-depth) knowledge in Windows and is comfortable working with macOS and Linux. To troubleshoot and diagnose problems you are used to tools like Process Monitor and Dependency Walker. There might also be support cases on our mobile applications on Android and iOS. We are looking for somebody that likes to tinker with computers, networks and mobile phones and are not afraid to learn new things. For now, we have a suite of email clients and plug-ins that allows for effortless encryption, but we are also expanding into other different exiting products.

Job qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate issues on all our platform (windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS) that have been escalated by the 1st level support
  • Collect the information required to troubleshoot, analyze and resolve problems
  • Reproduce issues in our test environment
  • Find solutions how to avoid problems
  • Update internal knowledge base and documentation to share knowledge within the team
  • Work together with the SQA team to ensure the quality of our products

 

Essential Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows including analysis tools like Sysinternals
  • Knowledge of Linux, macOS
  • Knowledge of mobile operating systems (Android, iOS)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a large organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in autonomy
  • Service minded and result oriented
  • Enjoy teamwork
  • Self-sufficient when needed.
  • Fluency in English

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Fluency in German
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience in encryption, PGP, private/public keys
